Last night we did a "CrossFit Total" workout which is a 1 rep max strength effort at 3 different lifts. These 3 lifts combined are a very good indicator of overall strength. And as I have said before strength is probably the most important aspect of fitness for both women and men. From the standpoint of decreasing injury, improving performance, improving day to day living , and increasing bone density, strength is KING. Met con workouts are easy to implement and people love them cause they feel the effects immediatey whereas increasing strength is a little more scientific and a lot more technical. Bottom line is do your strength work as it will pay the most benefit in the long run. The best way to get stronger is to lift heavy....keep your form and technique but challenge yourself. As our results showed from our workout last night everyones strength is dramatically improved.
